Prof. (Dr.) Prithvish Bose completed his doctoral education from XLRI, Jamshedpur in 2017, from where he also acquired his P.G. Diploma in Business Management in 1984. He completed his B. Tech from, IIT, Dhanbad, in 1982.
As a manager, he has almost three decades of experience in delivering sustainable revenues and profits across industries, setting up new businesses, and turning around under-performing ones. His expertise extends to strategic planning, business development, directing large cross-functional teams, and developing alliances. Closely involved with quality management initiatives, Dr. Bose has participated in lead roles in Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and TQM activities.
He has worked in several multinational organisations including Fortune 500 companies, as well as top Indian business houses, and has wide exposure to the Indian IT, Office Automation, Paints, and Telecom industries, including the IT Services market in the Asia-Oceania region.
After switching over to academics, Dr. Bose has taught in several well-known management institutes and universities in India. His research interests are in the area of consumer behaviour and he has published several research papers in reputed journals and conferences and contributed to book chapters in these areas. He has also acted as a reviewer of several prestigious international journals.
Dr. Bose has performed several administrative roles such as, Associate Dean, Director (Product and Innovation), Head of the Department, Examinations Coordinator, Academic Coordinator, Member-Academic Council, Secretary-Faculty Council, Chairman/Member-Board of Studies, Member-University Research Committee, and Team Leader-NAAC Self-study report (Criterion II). He has organized several conferences, seminars, workshops, Faculty Development Programs and webinars.
An avid reader, Dr. Bose is well acquainted with both classical and modern English and Bengali literature. Travelling is his second passion, and he has travelled widely both in India and abroad. He is fond of music and had dabbled in philately during his student years.
