About the Conference

ISB&M Kolkata is hosting the 4th International Conference on “Emerging Socio-economic Trends & Business Strategy” on August 28-29, 2026. This conference aims to provide a platform to address and deliberate on various issues and concerns in field of Finance, Economics, Marketing, Human Resources & Organizational Behaviour, Media & Communication, Supply Chain Management and Environmental Sustainability & Green Living. The conference attempts to facilitate researchers around the world to present their research work, expanding knowledge and insight into the significant current challenges. The program is structured to favour interactions among attendees coming from diverse horizons, both from academic and industry. It specially aims to synthesize research perspectives and foster interdisciplinary scholarly dialogues for developing integrated approaches to complex problems of Global Business Dynamics in different countries and various disciplines.

Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Subramanian is a distinguished scholar in the fields of technology, society, cybersecurity, and public policy. He is an Affiliated Fellow at Yale Law School’s Information Society Project and Professor Emeritus of Business Analytics and Information Systems at Quinnipiac University, where he served for over two decades. A US Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Subramanian has extensive academic and research experience focused on security, privacy, and the societal implications of technology.

He previously worked as a Senior Software Engineer at IBM’s Advanced Technology Lab and has demonstrated expertise in data analysis, e-learning, entrepreneurship, and strategy. Dr. Subramanian holds a PhD in Management Information Systems from Rutgers Business School and has built a distinguished career bridging academia, technology, and policy research.

Prof. (Dr.) Kingshuk Sinha is a distinguished academic and thought leader in supply chain and operations management, currently serving as Professor and Chairman of the Supply Chain & Operations Department at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He also holds the prestigious Elmer L. Andersen Chair in Sustainable Supply Chain. With over three decades of teaching and research experience at the institution, he has made significant contributions to the fields of corporate responsibility, business analysis, and program management.

Prof. Sinha’s research focuses on technological capability development and innovation in complex systems, particularly in healthcare delivery. He earned his PhD in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, along with an MS and B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering, and continues to be recognized for his interdisciplinary expertise and academic leadership.

Dr. Maria Ochwat is a legal professional, academic lecturer, and international expert in human rights, communication, and intercultural management. She serves as an ambassador for the Global Peace Index (Institute of Economics and Peace, Australia) and has held key roles in international initiatives, including managing the European Commission project “Media Literacy for Democracy” in Poland. She is an international advisor to the EU COST Association, an expert for the German-Swiss Accreditation Commission, and a reviewer for global academic bodies. Dr. Ochwat contributes to the scientific councils of several prestigious journals across Europe and Asia.

With a diverse professional background spanning law, academia, journalism, PR, and business training, she has worked extensively across Europe, Asia, and the USA. A long-time human rights advocate, she has collaborated with organizations such as Amnesty International and the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, and has actively participated in global legal and advocacy initiatives. Her research focuses on human rights, international relations, communication, and negotiation.

Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kumar Bhattarai is a distinguished Professor of Management at Tribhuvan University, Nepal, with over 35 years of academic, research, and development consulting experience. A “pracademic” by orientation, he seamlessly integrates scholarly rigor with real-world application, contributing extensively to policy research, MSME development, and socio-economic transformation.

He specializes in public policy analysis, enterprise resilience, financial inclusion, and business ecosystem development, with significant engagement as a consultant and principal investigator for global organizations such as the World Bank, IDRC, and ILO.

Dr. Bhattarai is the originator of four innovative frameworks—Nepal Development Mantra, RAJTHALI, AAA Approach, and WRISTS Framework—widely applied in research, policy advocacy, and field interventions. A prolific author, he has published multiple books and numerous research articles, and has supervised doctoral and master’s level research. His contributions to higher education and research have been recognized with prestigious national and international awards.

Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Kumar Sana is a Professor in the Department of Commerce at the University of Calcutta, with specializations in Financial Markets & Institutions, Microfinance, and Small Business. With a Ph.D. from the University of Calcutta, Dr. Sana has an extensive academic and administrative background, having previously served as Head of the Department, Director of the CU-CSE Centre of Excellence in Financial Markets, and Senate Member of the University. He has guided numerous M.Phil. and Ph.D. scholars, authored several books, published over 30 research articles, and delivered invited lectures at national and international forums. His research interests span accounting, financial reporting, entrepreneurship, and development of small enterprises. Dr. Sana has also been recognized with multiple awards, including Best Paper Awards and the Best NSS Programme Officer Award from the University of Calcutta.

Guidelines for Structured Extended Abstract submission

The conference solicits unpublished research paper submissions prepared on listed conference theme and sub-themes from prospective National and International authors. Soft copy of the Extended Abstracts (Approx. 1300 to 1500 words with at least 5 Keywords) (.doc & .docx file only) should reach by 20th July, 2026. Each Abstract should be formatted in Times New Roman (12 font size) focusing on the following points:

• Write briefly and clearly in full sentences (no fragments). Content that is not present in the original paper should not be included in the Abstract. The following should be mentioned in the Extended Abstract:
  • Title- Clearly reflect the main topic or focus of the research.
  • Introduction- Briefly mention the context and introduce the research problem.
  • Purpose- Clearly state the aim of the paper or the motivation behind the research.
  • Select Literatures- Mention the key existing works that justify the research framework.
  • Design/methodology/approach- Explain how the research was conducted, including the primary methods used and the theoretical or subject framework applied.
  • Analysis & Findings- Summarize the main outcomes of the research, including key results, analysis, and discussions.
  • Practical implications- Outline how the findings can be applied in practice, including any recommended changes or benefits to professional practice.
  • Originality/value- Highlight what is novel about the paper and explain its significance and relevance to the intended audience
  • Conclusion and Recommendations- Summarize briefly and suggest what actions may be taken
  • References- Include important scholarly references cited.
